The PFLAG Washington State Council wants to thank the many leaders, individuals, and organizations for the love and support of this coalition of Washington State PFLAG chapters. Together, we worked to help state chapters become successful in their missions to provide support, education, and advocacy to the LGBTQ community, their families and friends.

We are all part of PFLAG National, the oldest LGBTQ advocacy group in the nation and a powerful grassroots effort of volunteers. Founded in 1972, PFLAG National is committed to advancing support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) people through support, education, and advocacy. Our memberships consists of families, friends and allies of LGBTQ people, as well as LGBTQ people themselves.

As PFLAG members, we are dedicated to respectful dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and creating a society that recognizes and respects our human diversity, both by our laws and the way we treat each other. We strive to create change by staying true to our core PFLAG values.

We are family. We are support. We are education. We are advocacy.

Thank you again for your support of PFLAG in Washington State!

Chapter Support

Family support and acceptance is critical

The health and wellbeing of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer...and PFLAG has been at the forefront of this work for over four decades. Find out more about how we have been supporting thousands of families in Washington State, across the country, around the world, and the ways in which we can provide that support to your family.

For many of us starting our journey in the LGBTQ community—as parents, family, and allies and/or gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender questioning/queer people—PFLAG is often the first place we turn to.

The First Step

The first step is to attend a local chapter’s monthly support meeting, where you can receive support, educational materials, and learn about our advocacy work. This list of Washington State PFLAG chapters can guide you. If there are several PFLAG chapters in your proximity, feel free to check out the different ones and find your best fit.
